| He got his own bed at the hotel and loved it! |
He loved all of the animals and we think he had a good time. He was so tuckered out by the time we left that while he was eating his snack in the car he fell a sleep, mid bite. Ya know you've had a good day when you can't even get your hand out of the bag.
On his birthday we were babysitting so we weren't home but we still had a fun day with him. We took him to Red Robbin for lunch. They sang to him there and I was laughing so hard that I was almost crying. He was giving them the biggest pig eye I've ever seen. If you could have gotten in his head I'm sure he was thinking that they were totally ruining his birthday and he was not impressed at all. We decided that he really doesn't like to be sung to or have that much attention just on him. He'd rather admire his balloons and eat his free sundae thank you.
After lunch we went to his very first movie, Dr. Seuss The Lorax. We went to the cheap theater so if it wasn't working out we'd just ditch but he sat there the entire time on Andrew's lap! I was amazed that he stayed there the whole time.
After the movie he took a nap and then we went to a park a played for a little bit. A 2 year old's best friend.
Since we were babysitting the week of his birthday I didn't make his cake till the Sunday after. He was not as impressed as I was with it. Like I said before we've found he doesn't like attention all on him. But it didn't help that he was just waking up from a nap when we were forcing him to blow out his candle and be happy :)
I wanted to put in a few stories and things that Hayden is doing at 2 years old:
*He's talking a lot and using words in sentences. Not complete sentences however.
*He loves to kick balls. We think he might be a little soccer player because he does it so well.
*His favorite foods are: Tacos, spaghetti, meatloaf, potatoes, corn dogs, ketchup, or any dipping sauce, peas, green beans, strawberries, grapes, cereal, eggs and pancakes.
*He's not a fan of: some types of chicken, watermelon, pineapple, and carrots.
*He loves the water! Bath, shower, swimming pool, sprinkler. All of it.
*Can count to 15 well 20 with help
*Struggles with his colors. Everything is blue.
*Knows his left and right
*Is still doing awesome with the potty!
*Prefers his trains or cars undies over his Mickey Mouse which is weird because he loves Mick Mouse
*Loves his aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents
*Likes to dump things out and put them back. Likes to clean things up
Some funny stories about Hayden:
*We always say to him "do you know that mama loves you?" his reply back is "yeah, and daddy." When Andrew asks him the same question he always replies "and mama". We love that.
*We've been teaching him to stay on the sidewalk and when we cross the street to look for cars. So one Sunday when we were walking home from church we were crossing the street and we said "Hayden are there any cars this way?" "Nooope." Then there was a truck coming from the opposite direction and we wanted to see if he'd caught on to the concept so we said "Are there any cars coming this way?" His reply was "Nooope, a truck." We think he gets it :) It was too cute.
*We've been on the potty training kick and so I always ask him to tell mama when you need to go potty. And then we practice and I say what are you going to say when you have to go potty and he yells, PAWTEE! So we were going over to my parents house for Father's Day and I was telling him that when we go over there that he needs to tell Papa Happy Father's day. When we were almost there I asked him what he was going to tell Papa. His reply "PAWTEE, Papa!" I think we have him brain washed on the whole potty thing. . . .
He had to get one last shot at the doctor for his 2 year check up and did really well. His stats were:
Height: 45% -I didn't catch his specific height
Weight: 20% -25pounds
We sure love this little guy! And we know he's going to be an awesome big brother as well.

What a cute boy! I can not believe he is two already. And so smart! I read your potty training post too and we used the same method! It took Weston a week to get it but it was worth it to have him fully trained before he was two. Unfortunately we did do the two in diapers thing and it is no fun. I will say though that with Saydi it did not take. We had to quit and try again about six months later (mostly because I had Jonas in that time frame and wasn't geared up for it). So if you ever do have a girl just beware that they are more difficult, or at least mine was! Probably because she has an attitude like her mama. ;) Hope you are doing well. I LOVE your straight hair. Gorgeous.
