The 9 month "tude"

This last week has not been tons of fun because Hayden has developed an attitude out of the blue. What the heck! He has been ultra (ultra = sensitive) and everything is the end of the world. At least in his world. He runs into something while he's crawling with his head down and you'd think we slammed his leg in the door or something. I thought boys weren't supposed to be like this. But to give him a slight break he's getting more teeth in on top. The last bout of them was NOT fun so I can't imagine what big ol molars are going to do to him.
Last weekend we decided to go to Utah just to hang out and go shopping. The whole trip was planned around Hayden going swimming. Andrew hadn't seen him in the pool so he really wanted to. We drove down Sunday afternoon and stayed in Layton. We jumped in our swimming suits and was so excited when we saw no one in the pool. We found out why. It was SO cold! Don't worry we still put Hayden in. He was going to have fun cold or not. Hayden started splashing but kinda slowed down a little later. Probably because he was having onset of hypothermia. . . we decided that it was too cold when his little chin started shivering. So what did we do? Put him in the hot tub. Talk about shock to the body. No we're not that bad of parents we just splashed water on him and then got out.
The next day we went shopping and hung out. One of our purchases was Hayden's front facing car seat. I'm more excited about it then Hayden I'm sure. I'm so tired of throwing my back out caring that big lug of a thing around. It was fun to just get away and hang out with my cute family.

Still happy but starting to slow down. I think Hayden's lips were starting to turn a faint shade of blue by now.

Getting his hair dipped or learning how to dive. Whichever comes first.

Dad getting his dipped as well.

What Hayden's been doing at 9 months:

* Loves to give kisses. Mostly gives them to his mama though :)
* When we say do pat-a-cake he starts clapping his hands.
* Is crawling all over and pulling himself up on things. Not walking yet but starting to cruise a little bit.
* Loves being outside in the stroller and petting the dogs.
* If he gets hurt or is sad we bring him to a window and he immediately stops crying.
* Loves other babies or kids. Especially his buddy Cade. They light up when they see each other.
* Likes to get his teeth brushed and loves his fluoride. Hopefully continues to. . .
* Still feeds himself finger foods.
*Has discovered that he can spit things out if he doesn't want to eat it or blocks it/swats it with his hand. (That's where he starts with his "tude")
* Drinks out of a straw and prefers water over juice.
* Usually goes to sleep without crying. We'll just hear him in there singing.
* He knows what night-night means.
* Still taking two 1 1/2 -2 hr naps and sleeping 10-12 hrs a night. Everyone says that'll end soon. I really hope not!

His stats:

18 lbs 15%
28 inches 43%

Our Dr's office got a new program for this and so she said that it could be slightly off. How off could it really be though? But Hayden actually dropped in his weight percentage this time. She's not worried about it since he's been more mobile. But I told him if he keeps up his tude when eating then he's not going to make weight. Which means he wont be able to sit in his car seat. I'll let him make the choice :)

*Just a side note. I started this post a week or so ago and I never did pubish it till today so I do want to redeem Hayden a little bit. He is doing so much better and has dropped his attitude. At least for the time being :)

Weekend in the sun!

When I look out across the nasty, dirty, brown lawn with no sign of vegetation even close in sight accompanied by dark, gloomy skies it makes me think. . .  why do I live here?! But then the positive side comes out in me and I think this is the worst time of the year to be looking outside so give yourself a break. So instead of being depressed and cold I did something about it and went where it was warm and sunny.

Don't mind the "palm bangs" in my face. . . I need them. My last post explains that :)

The family that Andrew and I watch their kids when they're gone has a house in Arizona and they said that we could go down and use it. . .  however Andrew didn't get to go. But the girls took advantage of the offer and made it a girls trip. I have the funnest family ever! My two hilarious aunts Kay and Connie went. Along with my fun mom, kid sister :), and 3 sun seeking cousin's Chantel, Lacey, and Hailey. We were quite the group.
We got really cheap flights out of Idaho Falls to Mesa and the house was 4 miles away from the airport. When we got off the plane we immediately went outside took off our winter coats, sweaters, snow pants, long johns, wool socks, stocking caps, mittens. . .  ya get the picture and basked in the sun. Oh it was so wonderful! The goal was to soak up as much vitamin D as possible. We really just hung out by their pool, did some shopping, and ate. What more do you need to do then that. It was so fun.

Kinz and I bought the same swimming suit (WalMart special!)

The pool was FREEZING! Psych, we weren't jumping in. Unless you're Hailey and she jumped. She's crazy!

She came up gasping! It was so cold it made your skin hurt.

I wish I could of got more pictures of the aunts. They were always behind the camera!

When we all went somewhere we loaded up in the suburban and stayed in the same seats. When we would make decisions we would do it by rows. Well middle row which consisted of me, A. Connie, and Chan, ALWAYS :) made all of the decisions on where to eat, where to shop, etc. Whenever anything was good or turned out right we always would say "Good job middle row!" But then back row would always chime in "no back row was the ones that said Mongolian. . . " Right, back row. . .  keep on thinking that :)

Shopping in SanTan Village. Oh Arizona, how we love you!

Thanks SO much to my fun, fun, aunts and mom for paying for a lot of the trip. We love you guys so much and appreciate all that you do for us. We made some great memories and can't wait to do it again.

Tracee and LaMar, you guys are the smartest for having a house in Arizona so we could go and enjoy it as well. We can't thank you enough!
Thanks so much Andrew who stayed home with Hayden and when he had to go to school on Monday Tiff came over at 6:15!!! and was there when Hayden woke up and then took him over to her house to watch him till I got home that afternoon. We SO appreciate her. Hayden loved playing with Cade. They are so cute together. I have the greatest family ever!
I also appreciate my sweet husband that encouraged me to go when in all reality he should have been the one taking the break. Andrew has been working so hard with school and work. He has been so selfless while doing all of this and I can't put in words how much I admire and love him. He is my one and only and I love him more and more every day. Thanks again, Andrew, for letting me take a break and doing so great at being Mr. Mom.
Hayden was turning his hat around and then it ended up looking like this. Peter Pan style or something. He told me when I got home that he had tons of fun with Dad!
